PowderMills Country House Hotel offers a delightful retreat steeped in character and charm, nestled within 150 acres of landscaped gardens and woodland. Our stay coincided with New Year's celebrations, making the surroundings all the more enchanting, especially as we wandered the beautiful grounds and ventured into the nearby medieval town of Battle. Our spacious double room, adorned with individual decor and a lovely verandah, provided the perfect cozy haven after a day of exploring. I particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the complimentary welcome drink, which enhanced that warm, inviting atmosphere. Not to mention, the fine dining experience was exceptional-with locally sourced ingredients reflecting exquisite seasonal flavors that were a hit with my travel companions. After evenings spent laughing by the roaring log fire in the drawing room, we indulged in the hotel's acclaimed afternoon cream teas, an absolute must during winter. The attentive yet unobtrusive staff made us feel at home, ensuring our every need was met.
